Is that your back yard? I'll be there tomorrow...
Huh?
Naw, that's Pete's truck yard and boat repository.
Never rode in a boat like that,, a few motor launches mostly off of cruise ships.. definitely never had rocket launchers on those babies.. look like quite the ride.
just did my first pass thru the drivers for this weekend..
OK, I'm out of lurk mode, Thanks for the thread.
too bad about Octane 93 and losing his ride..
Oops sorry that was Speed. I'm guessing the pics are from that? I'm getting a red x. Phooey.
Yay... I finally got them to show!!
Thanks, those are real keepers and I'm sharing them with the girls! WooHoo
Holy cow!!!!!
McFarland Released from #88 Team: JR Motorsports announced today that Mark McFarland has been relieved of his driving duties of the #88 NAVY Accelerate Your Life Chevy. NASCAR Busch Series Champion Martin Truex Jr. will pilot the #88 at Watkins Glen International Raceway this weekend. Mark was instrumental in getting our Busch program off the ground and he will always have a role in the history of JR Motorsports. But the reality is that as a business we have the responsibility of delivering a level of performance for our sponsors, said Team Owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. This change is being made to address that concern.(JR Motorsports PR)(8-10-2006)
Good!
Well there's this.....from Jayski
Mayfield out..totally at Evernham? hearing Evernham Motorsports has released #19 driver Jeremy Mayfield from driving duties for the rest of the season, no word if the contract situation has been resolved if he has been released....or if he will drive again this season in the Cup series.(8-10-2006)
Quite a news day all around, good thing I'm off.
I am very glad I don't fly anywhere anymore!!
Yeah I think the Navy expected much better from a Jr owned team. They have Shane Huffman in the wings, I just don't know if they will put him in after the Glen or not. Jr was planning on two Busch teams next year.
Radio is saying at least 3 hours to get through security at airport here.
Scary stuff, for sure.
My wife and our son are going to the SEMA show in Vegas the end of Oct. I hope this has calmed some some down by then.
For those with XM Radio: Jr and Josh Snider will host a LIVE 1-hour Call-In show Tuesday Night...
from 8-9ET. Claire B. just announced it. It is a special Dale Jr unrestricted show.
As for tonight's show, Jr is impersonating Richard Childress again. It should be a great show.
The call in number is 866-250-8535.
Claire also interviewed Steve Crisp re: McFarland......here is a recap done by one of the girls on Jr's board.
He basically said that the team just needed to know what direction they need to go in next because things were just not working the way they were going. They needed someone in the car that would be able to give them feedback on shocks, springs, etc. From the Navy's standpoint, that was a veteran because there are already so many in the series. Its hard for a rookie to keep up. He said that Mark is a GREAT person and a great driver. You wouldn't find one person in that shop to say a cross word about him but he is a rookie.
He said they have that rookie stripe for a reason and that he just wouldn't be able to provide the feedback they needed to improve the team. He said they had tried changing the crew chief and other parts of the team to try to improve and learn more about where they need to go but that it still wasn't working.
He said they have great engines and they think great bodies so they need to find out where the problem is and Martin will help them do that. He said that unfortunately they don't have the luxury of being relaxed and not really worrying about the results and let things go. They have a big responsibility with the Navy Sponsorship to keep that car in contention to promote them. They demand results and that is what they have to have. He said not only that but they have Dale Jr's name on the car and with that name comes alot of expectations and they have to live up to those expectations and keep that name up front.
Mark has been given the opportunity by Dale Jr to stay with JR Motorsports and work with the company in other capacities. So, he still has a job there if he wants it. Steve said that would be up to Mark to see what he wanted to do.
That right there makes me so PROUD to be a Jr fan because he is still giving Mark every opportunity that he can. He didn't just drop him. He is still doing his very best to do right by him.
Thanks. I got XM to get Bob Dylan's show, which I seldom catch because of schedule. But, Junebug is a hoot!
