He was lucky--my grand dad rolled his own and only made it to 89.

But what kind of health did he live in? My Mom made it to 80...but she was dogged with so many ailments and ended up dying of pneumonia related to her smoking. In fact one doctor refused to treat her because she wouldn't stop smoking. DId she live long....yes. Was her quality of life good? Not really. Hey, I'm not trying to start an argument here. Genes have so much to do with thing..but there is NO doubt that smoking is not good for you. Do I think it should be outlawed...HELL NO...We all have the right to ruin our bodies if we choose.

Most of my grandparents and great grandparents smoked and all lived into their 80's, 90's, and one over 100.

In this day and age, smoking causes all respitory illness and cancers. We know it isn't exaust fumes, and all the other pollution in the air. That stuff is harmless. /s

Face it, blaming cigarette smoke for all health problems keeps the lefties happy, because it gives them an issue in which they can control other peopes freedoms, raise taxes on cigarettes, and opens the door to control other aspects of peoples lives, like eating. Smoking dope has no ill effects at all however, nor does the taking other chemicals, like crack, or meth, and sodomy has no health risks at all.

Yeah, my poor smoking Dad keeled over at 95. Too bad they weren't in it for the long run, eh?

See!! What more evidence do you need!

My mother's older sister smoked two packs a day for 60+ years and died at 88. My mother never smoked or drank and died at .... you guessed it, 88.

Their parents were heavy smokers, too. Each died in their late 80s. Maybe it had something to do with genes, ya think?
