This is not rocket science.
Oil Companies don't pay taxes.
Consumers and shareholders (most of us) do.

"Begala was declared the human winner, following a ruling that imaginary characters could not hold the position".Beaten by a cartoon character ! HA!
One of my favorite memories from the Gore-Bush election in 2000 was him and The Ragin' Cajun (Carville) on Crossfire, where Carville put the wastebasket on his head....it wasn't a big enough wastebasket, or Begala would have been in there, too.

Why not tax venture capital gains instead. Talk about obscene profits. What about taxing intellectual property. It is amazing to me that such supposedly smart people would sign up for such stupidity. The only explanation must be that they are invested in some start-up which only breaks even when the price of gas hits $4 a gallon.

How would you like to pay more for gas? This is one of the reasons I'm getting out of California; the Left's policies have made life too expensive. And now they are not satisfied with $3.00 a gallon at the pump. Vaccuum out more from motorists' wallets - "to make the oil companies pay!"
