Mmm... I see that the IDF quartermaster has approved the issuance of "low rise" BDU dungarees for the female troops. Good decision! ;-)

I'm familiar with firearms, but perhaps some other FReepers can explain what I'm seeing in the foreground of that picture (took me a while to notice it was there...) ;-)

Looks like an M-16, but the magazine arrangement seems "off". Some sort of weapon-mounted spare magazine holder, perhaps? What say you, fellas?

Standard IDF issue item the enables one to carry your weapon in a "safe" position while still having a loaded magazine within a quick change position. See the following for example:
