Lieberman Reduces Effort to Get Out Vote (CT Dem primary)
The New York Times ^ | August 5, 2006 | NICHOLAS CONFESSORE, ANNE E. KORNBLUT and JENNIFER MEDINA

With only three days left to reverse the course of the Democratic primary race, Senator Joseph I. Lieberman is scaling back on the ambitious ground operation that his supporters had hoped would pull him past his challenger, Ned Lamont, in Tuesday’s election, people affiliated with the campaign said.

In East Hartford on Friday, Senator Joseph I. Lieberman played down poll results.

Mr. Lieberman, slipping badly in recent polls, still has solid organizational support. Major unions are planning phone banks on his behalf. Firefighters are taking the day off to drive older voters to polling stations. Black churches are distributing literature focusing on some of the historically most reliable Lieberman supporters, in the belief that the more Democrats show up to vote, the better his chances are.

But in the waning hours of the most closely watched Democratic primary in the nation, Mr. Lieberman, a three-term incumbent, appears to be ceding some tactical ground to his opponent in favor of running new advertisements emphasizing his message that voters should see him for more than his vote to authorize the war in Iraq.

Screw that. Make commercials emphasizing how proud you are of your vote. Damned Liberals.

"I think this is good for Republicans in November."

Not yet it doesn't. The current Republican nominee is scandal-tainted and refuses to drop out of the race.

That's not surprising, as they are the chat room for The Moonbat Left.

Also speaks volumes of the little impact Xlintoon seems to have made when he campaigned for Joe. I seem to recall he had the same dismal results campaigning in 2004 and hope he repeats that trend in 2008 when it's his wife's turn.

This particular primary is going to tell us if the leftwingnuts, and their anti-semitic agenda, can take over the Democratic party in Connecticut.

This development speaks vividly for itself.

Especially this part:

Mr. Lamont, with his support from bloggers and his antiwar message, has sometimes been described as the heir to the legacy of Mr. Dean, a former Vermont governor.

Now there's a sobering thought...

Very much so. If Alan Schlesinger refuses to drop out of the race, he will be a pariah and rightly so.

Mr. Lieberman, a three-term incumbent

In dog years, the creep has been sucking the national public dole for at least 18 years.  Nope, that would be a century and a quarter in dog years.  Not sure why Hannity and others suck up to Gore's #2 but I don't care.

He's a dem from CT, a leftist state, and it doesn't matter who holds the seat.  Left is left. One vote in the senate is only one vote.

Dump him already.

When he is able to obtain a 'job' on his own maybe then he can get some respect, in the meantime Joe, bite me.

And don't bother to flame me all on how he supports the WOT.  It's only a ruse.

Joe Lieberman is nothing great, but Ned Lamont makes him look like a conservative.

Conservative to who? Only the nitwits in CT can vote for him or Lamont. The rest of the nation will feel the same pain regardless on who holds the seat.

Same as in my state. I apologize to all that my statewide nitwits installed two socialists in the senate, one a lifer - and you too - will, and are, paying the same price.

What else does he have on that worthless show. RUSH takes all of the topics to task before he gets on. Then he spoon feeds it to political IQ's of 60. Then he has to go on the worthless H&C & have Combs sit & talk at a level 30 IQ.

When he out of office for 2 yrs what do you think he will say negative about the dems? My guess - nothing. This is how sad these libs are. Guarantee, if he knew his outcome he would do as all of these frauds do & would have reversed his thought.
