Sure there's a reason -- . By making the smoke look 20x bigger they're giving viewers the impression of a city that is being pounded wholesale, with widespread destruction and (by implication) lots of civilian deaths (rather than the TRUTH, which would be of a specific building hit for very good reasons). Reuters is trying to shape public opinion against Israel with this pic.
