Some of the California utility companies apparently favor this, presumably because limiting supply results in more demand for their product. Here is a list of supporters/opponents of SB 1368:
 Support
          American Lung Association
          California Coastal Protection Network
          California League of Conservation Voters
          Calpine
          Clean Power Campaign
          Coalition for Clean Air
          Environment California
          Environmental Defense
          Environmental Entrepreneurs
          Natural Resources Defense Council
          Pacific Gas and Electric
          Planning and Conservation League
          Sierra Club California
          TURN
          Union of Concerned Scientists

Opposition
          California Municipal Utilities Association
Center for Energy and Economic Development
          Sempra Energy
Sustainable Environment & Economy for California

I used to support PG&E in their horrid battle with the GovernMental EnvironMental GANG-GREEN militants, but now they've come down with a case of the "terminal stupids!"

Screw 'em! No more! They are lying down with the dogs and they are sure to come up with the fleas!!! I for one will no longer listen to their pathetic pleas!!! (I arhymed)

Calpine is a sick joke. They tried so hard to get ahead of all their competition by backing Gray Davis in CA, as well as the Sierra Flub, that it's no wonder they're in virtual Bankruptcy!!!
