armor unsupported by infantry cannot work effectively against dug in infantry with anti-tank capability-the Israelis had a similar problem in the '73 war at one point-I believe it was against the Syrians, but I'm not sure -it's been awhile since I read about the incident

exactly; today armor and infantry need to be coordinated and ideally also with close air support. That's the Israelis advantage. The superior anti-armor munitions are a surprise which call for adjustments to air support and infantry tactics, but the next chess move will be Iranian provided SAMs deployed by Hez.

It was the Egyptians. They deployed massive amounts of Russian made Sagger missles. They came as a big shock to the Iraelis, and losses were high in the opening stages of the war.

No it was Egyptians with Sagger ATGMs. The Israelis at first used older 1967 tactics and lost several hundred tanks - not 4 or 10. They realized what was happening and improved combined arms coordination and the loss rate plummeted. In laymans terms, they called in artillery fire before the tanks came into range, to keep the shooter's heads down etc.

Every weapon has a counter, all of them working together have no counter.

Exactly so, particularly in an urban enviroment. Send in the grunts to clean them out house by house, supported by armor.

Israel had problems against the Egyptian "Sand Forts" also in the 73 War. The wire-guided AT missiles (Saggers) caused them problems, but you know what, they figured out how to get over it...and they will again this time.

The number of tanks damaged and destroyed isn't that high. It is nothing compared to WWII. It is just the MSM hyperventilating again.
