At least, I was trained to make 7s that way when hand printing messages back in Commo School in '71..

That's the way I was taught at Erding (bei Munchen) AFB Elementary, but I've only rarely run across another American that writes like that. Would you expect to typically find hand notations on U.S weapons cases in that style?
