Forwarning: here cometh Frontliner. Man from NRA, poser and Johnny one note. To tell us all about the twelve year old grievance, that shall never be assuaged. Prepare the zot.

I have personally raised this issue with him, and has told me that he has no plans to change the laws. I did counsel him that there is a case to be made for raising the liability and personal injury limits across the board, with out bias to motorcycle riders.

LOL. I know. I just want you to point out that he is obviously for Gay Unions and he is obviously for stricter gun laws.

Crist reminds me of the sort of man that Admiral Horatio Nelson once spoke about:

"If a man consults whether he is to fight, when he has the power in his own hands, it is certain that his opinion is against fighting."

Crist is that sort of man IMHO.

Frontliner...was is that?

Sounds like a stage name for the lead singer in a transvestite eurotrash musical.

I would love to see Katherine Harris in the same pose with a Ruger Blackhawk in her hand.

Congresswoman Harris is a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Congresswoman Harris recently attended a conceal-carry permit class given by an NRA instructor. At the class, she received training on firearms safety, laws, and on the range. Taking the class is a requirement for receiving a state-issued conceal-carry permit.

Katherine Harris' record on 2nd Amendment Rights

Congresswoman Harris’ legislative record is rated “A” by the National Rifle Association, indicating a pro-gun rights voting record. Her likely General Election opponent who claims to be a sportsman, received an “F” rating from the NRA.

Among other 2nd Amendment Rights votes, she voted “yes” on prohibiting suing firearms makers & firearms sellers for gun misuse, and voted “yes” on prohibiting product misuse lawsuits on firearms manufacturers.

Two words are not enough for me. I don't like the demogogic term in his ad "offshore insurance companies" Much porefer Crist's statement that rates should come down through more competition. I assume that Citizens Insurance is not really insurance, at all.

Good folks,

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade here, but versions of this flyer have been getting sent around by Tom Gallagher's campaign for the last couple of months now. This still does not address the primary question raised in the article I originally posted here a few days ago.

From that article, the main statement was "Gallagher's past support, during his 1994 run for governor, for a ban on assault weapons, a push for registration of bullets and a ban on gun sales to those 21 and younger.". I have been communicating directly with Brian Desisselhorf at TG's campaign HQ about this, and he has (so far) done everything except give me a sraight answer.

That's not a good sign.

In a nutshell, when I show a political candidate a rifle like the one below, I want his response to be "can you build me one?", or, better yet, "I already have one in my safe".

Everyone who is eligible to own a gun should buy one and learn how to use it. The demagogues say guns are dangerous; they are no more dangerous than a car in the hands of a child, person who is incompetent, a dangerous criminal, or a drunk (Chappaquiddick). The 2nd Amendent gives us the right to bear arms, and we should exercise that right. Of course people such as Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Saddam Hussein and liberal Democrats would disagree with me.

Citizens was a tough call, but a bold move in the face of the problems that presented themselves in the wake of Andrew. The insurance market did stabilize, and people were once again able to get coverage, though at a price. Citizens, being quasi-public pays lower salaries than the rest of the industry, and so has suffered attracting the best people. This is not Tom's fault, it is an inherent defect of the public sector. Citizen's position in the market as the insurer of last resort, by definition means that the worst risk will gravitate there. Bill Nelson allowed insurance companies to break out a Florida division, and thereby isolate Florida risks. This single decision is the cause of twenty-five percent of our problems. 30 billion dollars in claims is a problem. Convincing insurance companies to accept such risks is the biggest problem. Now that these Florida divisions are leaving or folding, who will replace them? As to increasing competition, Tom is strategically arguing for adjustments in the re-insurance market to foster such competition. Tom has innovative ideas for this, by packaging a bundle of risks and premium income streams so that investors can have an "instant" new private insurance company.
Most of this insurance stuff is too technical to have a political discussion about. Bottom line- Tom has weathered the storm in insurance on behalf of Floridians once, and all the responsible proposals to help now are Tom authored. All that Charlie knows about insurance, he learned from reading his own policies, or from Tom.
