Fact is other soft drinks have have far less levels of pesticides as compared to Coke and Pepsi.

Fact is, this is the result of a frivolous lawsuit, and backed by one of those weenie environmental organizations. The fact that you buy into it demonstrates where your loyalties lie.

India can do no wrong in your eyes ever, and even their tricycles can beat US tanks. It's no conspiracy that the Indian economy still remains tightly controlled by the government and is fiercely protectionist. It's a fact. I'm not surprised that you don't see or believe it.

"Fact is, this is the result of a frivolous lawsuit, and backed by one of those weenie environmental organizations."

That I believe is your personal opinion. Pepsi and Coke are known to have high concentrations of toxic chemicals for quite sometime now and yet they managed to remain in the Indian market by taking advantage of the same (corrupt) system but now that their time has run out, you guys would be the first to cry foul. As long as the system serves in your favour its was great now thats its turned against you come up with the usual rant about "protectionism" and "government control".

"Protectionism" is when US government tries to enact laws to prevent outsourcing to countries like India. Thats protectionism. This issue is about consumables not up-to proper safety standards and is in fact downright harmful. India applying some stringent standards on consumables isnt "protectionism". Whats rules apply for Coke and Pepsi applies to other soft drinks as well. Either comply by the rules or just quit our market.

"The fact that you buy into it demonstrates where your loyalties lie."

(Yawn) Tell me about it.

BTW I see better use for Coke and Pepsi. We can always use them to spray our crops with.
