Summary of IDF operations against Hizbullah in Lebanon 3 Aug 2006
(Communicated by IDF Spokesman)
Over the past day, IDF infantry, armored and engineering forces operated in southern Lebanon. The forces positioned themselves in the areas of Mis el Jabal, Mahibab Blida, Shihin, Rajmil and Majdal Zun, in the eastern part of southern Lebanon. At the same time, IDF forces established positions in the villages of Al Teibeh, Al Adeisa, Rab A-Tiltin, Aita a-Shaab and Maroun A-Ras and Bint Jbeil.
Yesterday evening an IDF soldier was killed and four more were wounded in exchanges of fire in the village of Aita A-Shaab. An IDF soldier was severely wounded and two soldiers were lightly wounded in the village of Mahbib.
In fighting throughout the day, IDF forces killed approximately 35 armed Hizbullah terrorists, and wounded numerous other Hizbullah terrorists.
In the area of Bint Jbeil, IDF forces identified and destroyed a vehicle carrying a Hizbullah missile launcher. Additional weapons were discovered by the force, including 10 assault rifles in the area around the village of Sheihin.
During the night the IDF carried out more than 120 aerial attacks in Lebanon:
6 missile launchers, including launchers used for long-range attacks against Afula and Haifa.
35 Hizbullah buildings, storage facilities and headquarters
Areas used to launch rocket into Israel, and roads and bridges leading to those areas.
A vehicle identified transporting weapons.
Just wondering before I go to bed,,if Nukes started to fly, say toward Iran wouldn't our troops be sort of at risk. Does radiation go far? Would they be small nukes or great big ones.
Man, I haven't thought of nukes like this since the fifties when we practised hiding under our desks and I couldnt sleep for fear of Russians bombing us.
Unfortunately, I DID hear Gergen...he is such a squish!
Dang...finally, an HONEST reporter on CNN...this guy is saying that what happened in Baghdad today (the protests) was not that big of a deal...that the hate for America is very deep seated...and these protests are just to be expected.
Okay...now, the spin is starting...America is causing this by freeing these freaking people...
John Gibson was saying on his radio show tonight..that he was FOR the war, is STILL glad we went..and appreciates what Bush has done...but, he said, if they want to fight each other until death in a civil war...
America should just stand back and tell them go ahead!!
He said American troops can station in Kurdistan, drinking tea in the outdoor cafes..while the others form a Sunnistan, and a Shiastan....LOL
Wonder what's up?
Two commando units on the ground there.
If you ever feel scared, that is the hymn to play. It is so powerful.
Or this... makes me think of what Israel is up against (no way you can compare it though)

I keep wondering what Iran is up to ....they are practically begging us to fight them...and I will admit it...that has me a tad worried.
The raid has to be over by now.
NOW,,,,,fas dodo,,,zidco,,,????? LOL,,,,,HAAA,,,???(sp)
YAHOOOOOO!
"God I love this place, nowhere else but here would you get a discussion of Wagnerian operas on a Middle East thread."
Dont let those guys fool ya. It was really taken from a Buggs Buuny catoon where Elmer Fudd sings Kill da wabbit, kill the wabbit
Just to expand on what you reported from John Batchelor's show, which I found very interesting:
per Aaron Klien earlier today: Al-Aksr (sp?) brigade are being used as "spotters" in Israel.
per John Loftus: The "vegetable/fruit factory" bombing - satellite pictures verified lines of trucks (from Syria) going in with sagging springs with produce on top and coming out empty. Suspect that is a Fatay A-110 (sp?) with a 240 mi./500 kg. payload and is a guided munition. Suspect target is Dimona nuclear plant (as you said). Thinks that since speculation is that this is where Israel makes their nuclear mat'l., they will claim it is "hit by accident" and spew nuc. mat'l. all over. Oops! This missile could also be launched from Syria.
Since the Palestinians and Hesbo's are now trumpeting that "they can hit anywhere in Israel," this could be a viable scenario.
Hmmmmmm...................
Me too,,I think Iran is negotiating in the inimitable style of the Muslim fascists. He must be getting a bad offer so he has to resort to theatrics.
I am beginning to wonder just what the average IQ is in that part of the world.
Plus, are all those men over there lazy lay abouts that have nothing to do but drink tea and wave flags.
It would depend on the direction of wind, the type of nuke used, what the target is (reactors fueled for instance.) Even if there was absolutely no fallout, this would put our troops at risk from retaliation imho.
WE do tend to talk about everything in passing...
