Bob Corker looks like he'll be the winner in the US Senate Primary in Tennessee, while Van Hilleary has already conceded.

During his unsuccessful Senate campaign in 1994, Corker said he was personally opposed to abortion, but didn't believe it was a government issue. He now says he opposes abortion rights.
I agree with Corker in both respects. I should not be a FEDERAL government issue, and I don't believe that anyone should a have the "right" to have an abortion. It should be a State question, and if it were put to a vote in my state, I would only want it allowed if it were to save the mother's life and the baby had no chance of survival.

Hilleary concedes to Corker
The Associated Press reported that GOP Senate candidate Van Hilleary conceded to Bob Corker around 10 p.m. EDT. Hilleary trailed the race with 15.64 percent of the vote while Corker led the race with 50.20 percent of the vote.
According to the Associated Press, Hilleary told supporters at a party in Murfreesboro, "I just called Bob Corker and congratulated him on a great victory tonight ... No way around it, he's going to win in November and I'm going to do everything I can to make that happen."
Bryant offered no concession, but said he spoke with Hilleary on the phone and felt that Hilleary's presence in the Senate race had been beneficial.

Just like you did making sure he stole the primary, you slimy, back-stabbing little RINO termite. How much did they pay you, Hilleary ?

I had relatives in the Chattanooga area (extreme N. GA). They confirmed for me that Corker is a consummate politician ... he will lie and cheat to get what he wants and is all about empowering himself. He is also deceitful regarding his 'pro-life' assertions, as his record (cuzzying up to PP-hood) in Chattanooga proves easily. Ed Bryant was the best man for the Senate seat but Hilleary aided Corker by functioning as a Perot drain for votes. Van isn't smart enough to tie his own shoes, frankly, but he has ambitions for power int he state and Corker (or silent power brokers backing Corker) may have promised something big to him down the road ... Corker is the typical 'good 'ol boy network' power broker. Sleazy, real sleazy

I'll tell you what, this all got started 4 years ago when the White House insisted on dragging that sorry-ass RINO Lamar! into the Senate race for Fred Thompson's seat (whom actually had been content to remain in permanent political retirement, which I had NO problem with) over Congressman Ed Bryant. Bryant would've dispatched my then-Congressman, Bob Clement (whom I ascertain, despite having a moderate liberal voting record, was more pro-life than Chattanooga Chafee).
If Bryant had won the seat then, it was odds-on that Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn would've been the Conservative standard-bearer against Corker/Ford this year. Now we're faced with one useless slug of a Senator whom is on an Ahab-like quest to tax the internet, and a lying sack of $hit who employed every sleazy 'Rat-style tactic to buy the nomination as our standard-bearer for the fall. Beyond sickening.
At least one thing can be said, both the 'Rat and the RINO are equally matched in the ethics department.
...and one last thing, as for the repulsive and treacherous William Van Hilleary (oh, does that name ever suit you now !), I should thank the good Lord above that he did not get elected Governor of our fine state. If I knew that he was that cheap to buy off, I'd never have cast my vote for him in the first place. To paraphrase Michael Corleone regarding Fredo, he is DEAD to me now.

Ford Jr. vs. Ford Lite. Not much in the way of choices. In Tennessee you can buy an election. First Lamar! and now Corker. And I have to expect that Ford will have a lot of money coming in. So I might have to hold my nose and work for Ford Lite and hope and pray he doesn't pull a switch to the party he belongs in.

Back in 2002, Michael W. Smith hosted a fundraiser for Bryant. Also during the 1990's Amy Grant attended a rally for Fred Thompson. Did of the Christian Music celebrities make any endorsements in the primary?
With Corker's vast wealth, he fooled conservatives by claiming to be one of them. I heard he attended a lot of churches and claimed to be pro-life. Next year, we shall see if Corker is telling the truth.

I wasn't paying much attention to endorsements, so I have no idea who endorsed whom. I wouldn't be too enamored of someone Amy Grant endorsed, since she's a no-good philanderess. I wouldn't bet the farm on Corker heading to DC in January, either.
