Very unfortunate, but also very early. And it's possible that the first votes counted are from eastern Tennessee, and western Tennessee is Ed Bryant's base.

I am in Sullivan County. I stood in line about 1 hour, 35 minutes and hey, we had new machines. Dear Lord, I am glad those Floridian cry-babies weren't here. They would have never gotten it. Hope I haven't been disinfranchised! LOL...
Might as well tell you all I voted Corker for Senate and Richard Roberts for House of Representatives. Think Corker will win but Roberts might be a long shot! But, I like him.

Yeah, me and a friend voted for Bryant. I just found out that another voted for Corker! Not happy, hah.

Truth be told, I'm not really sure who'd I'd have voted for if I were a Tennessee resident.

I'm a moderate to conservative GOP'er - so I guess any of 'em would have been fine with me.

The Ohio governor's primary looked like this early on, with Petro up 65-35, but Blackwell won 55-45 when all the votes were in, so there's still hope yet.

Where's Sullivan County?

Northeast Tenn? The 1st District?

IMHO, Ed Bryant is the best choice.

As for Bob Corker, he strikes me as not a principled moderate, but an opportunist pro-business liberal running in the Republican primary. He's flip-flopped on a number of issues.

Actually, Bryant has a lot of support in east Tennessee, especially east of Knoxville.

Yeah, pretty much... of course, he's better than Ford. Whatever that means

Yes, it's in the Appalacian Mountains in northeast Tennessee.

Bryant did yeomans work as a member of the House impeachment team.

Some people say Hilleary did a terrible campaign in '02 when he ran for Governor.

I've heard that Corker raised taxes while mayor of Chattanooga.

Again, it's hard to say who I'd have voted for. If push came to shove...maybe Van Hilleary because of his geographic base in eastern and south central Tennesee.

"Actually, Bryant has a lot of support in east Tennessee"

That's good to know. Thanks for the update, I just hope it's enough.

Understandable. But eastern Tennessee already has a U.S. Senator. I believe that western Tennessee is due for one.

Corker may win the primary outright (over 50%).

Should Corker win, it will be a case of hard work paying off. Corker ran ads non stop for a couple of months. Whereas Bryant didn't run his ads until a few weeks ago.

Tennessee doesn't have runoffs. Which may turn out to be unfortunate.
