Didn't catch Katie (wasn't too interested in her debut anyway) but I think you are right about this thing being a global religious war. But what do you think about the fact that Islam is so divided in tribes and various interpretations of the religion, Koran, etc. (which I assume is the binding between them) that they will be a force to be reckoned with in a global religious war?
I'm pretty ignorant on the details of Islam or radical Islam.

I'm pretty ignorant on the details of Islam or radical Islam. So was I at the time of 9/11. I decided to get a good overview by reading something that had been written prior to that event to avoid the clouding or spin that the impact of that event might have on items written immediately in its wake. I got Viorst's In the Shadow of the Prophet: The Struggle for the Soul of Islam and it gave me a good overview.
