Origianl title would not fit:

Harry Reid May Ask Senator Clinton to Preempt Presidential Ambitions to Succeed Him as Senate Majority/Minority Leader

I have no idea about the credibility of this author or this article but I found it via Captains' Quarters blog and thought it was interesting.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, whom most give high marks for the manner in which he has stewarded the Dems in the Senate

Who are these "most"? I don't know anyone here who gives him high marks. He's a weasel.

If any of this is true it's probably because the pissy little weasel is beginning to feel the heat at home for his liberalism a la Daschle.

Just one more variation on the 'Rat version of "Whack-A-Mole", they just keep moving from one rat hole to another, and you just have to keep on *hammering* them.

Speaking of which, I miss Tom DeLay.

I would assume TWN is "The Washington Note" - the source of the piece.

Lovely, she'll be the de-facto "what-if" president as opposed to the loser in a real election.

It's Steve Clemons' blog. Clemons fancies himself as part of the Democratic Party's foreign policy shadow apparatus and is sizing up his office in the West Wing of a Democratic Administration.

Agreed. Politicians do not roll over for one another unless there is an angle in it for them. It's the reason why I tend not to place too much stock in conspiracy theories. Someone would not concede power unless there's another reason. Your idea would probably be it--to enable him to hang onto his Senate seat.

the "who" that refer to the "most" are of cousre the "DC/NY Journalist". The reason why Reid wants/needs Hitlery Clinton is that she's the only Dem that can actually raise cash, especially with the Hollywood Lefty Wackos. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I doubt it, but it is smart in Bridge to throw a loser on a loser. That would be the idea.

Hillary and the Democrat Minority Leader position are both losers.

Of course, if it came to pass, the media would try to portray it as something flattering to Hillary.

Senators such as Senator Chuck Hagel, Arlen Specter, and Lindsay Graham have reportedly said that they would welcome Senator Clinton in such a role, albeit from the other side of the aisle.

Ahhh yes, the usual suspects are "frustrated with Bush" but enamored of Hillary. No surprise there. Yes, these three bobble heads are frustrated that Bush will not become Congress's patsy and give up his role as commander in chief in charge constitutionally of national security to allow the three of them to govern the nation from the Senate and to run the nation's security policy rather than the president. The 3 imperious geniuses of the Senate determined to assert Congressional control over the running of the nation and to usurp presidential authority.

And don't bet the farm on this idea Hillary isn't enthusiastic to run for president. That's propaganda and b.s. Every move she makes is aimed at that end. It's pathetically obvious in her clumsy positioning and in her pandering rhetoric. Spare me this "She's the least enthusiastic to run." LMAO!
