The resulting 'smoke angel' -- suspended in the sky -- is impressive.

Specter is the scariest air to ground weapon ever. I hope they start using them in Iraq again very soon. FWIW the most famous AC-130 is named "Azreal" which is the Muslim angel of death. She is responsible for almost ALL of the destruction on the Highway of Death out of Kuwait. The crew was highly decorated after that little turkey shoot. Unfortunately she is retired at the Air Force Museum, Wright Patterson. Pictures on web.

Those are HC-130's not AC-130 SPECTRES

No, sorry to disagree with you, but they are KC-130s, most likley R or T models. After having over 4000 hours in one they become part of your life. HC-130s have a nose in the shape of a wedge, as well a a pronounced hump in the back aft of the cockpit. area Those noses are rounded. Also note the tri coloring. AF birds, including HC birds, are single color grey or camo.
