The 2000lbs bomb BSU balloon is also called a ballut. Balluts fit on big bombs and CBUs (Big Bombs that scatter lotsa little Combined Effect Munitions) <incendiary, shaped charge and Shrapnel. A 2000lbs CBU might hold 200 such cluster units. The miniballuts for this assembly were built to DOD specs for Goodyear Aerospace by a former Long Island brassiere manufacturer with big back channels to our friends in Isreal. All this was about 20 years ago.
It looks like highly accurate precision guided tools make more sense than cluster bombs. Our targets are few and far between.
