Yeah, but in this sci-fi story, local workers had to cross the AO and it was heavily contaminated due to waste launched from earth. The author had some fun with this - even made the point the railgun operator managed to write his name in the regolith with the waste canisters.
Still trying to cudgel up the name out of my very crowded noggin.
