Whoa big fella.... If the State Department/DoD says "any volunteers?" I'm all in. If its me going direct to a foreign nation to volunteer while still under the current oath of office, thats called at least AWOL if not worse.

I certainly understand your frustration. I've worked with the Izzies, flown with them (and flown some of their aircraft) sat and had dinner with some of the men currently flying the F-16I Sufa thats doing the precision targeting (media be damned) of the rocket tubes. They are the best, even better than us USAF guys. I don't know that we could help out much, truth be told.

Volunteer to help, yes. Go against my oath or out of my chain of command, no....

I would never ask any soldier to go against his Oath, I took the Oath and even though I don not currently serve I still believe in it.

I live in one of the most conservative states of this Union and I can not believe how even the average Midwesterner does not get the current battle we are facing.

I talk to average Midwesterners, fly over country, the heart land and still so very few of them understand the actual enemy we face, it is quite disheartening to say the least.

I hear form so many that Israel is just as big a terrorist as Hezbollah.

If I thought that the average Citizen understood what we were facing then I would never contemplate serving under a foreign government.

As for giving up your citizenship that is not necessarily so, SCOTUS has already ruled in a case involving a person serving in the IDF that he had no actual intention of giving up his citizenship.

Thank you for the service Church16. Like you, I am willing to end terrorism and promote love, peace, and freedom. I would like to fight for my own country first.

I also understand the hosts feelings about doing the job right. I don't think anyone likes to start something and leave it undone (except for the UN).

I am older now, but at the age of eighteen I was standing at the wall in West Germany waiting for T72s to come. I love my country and just let somebody shoot 2000 missiles into my her. I will be there to protect and defend her no matter how dang old I get. I think there are enough Israeli's that feel like me. I also see that Israel already has a very strong military. To the IDF, it would probably be an embarrassment to start something and then ask others to finish it for them. I think Israel can defend herself. I often find my self thinking about defending Israel but in a different way. When the buses where blowing up, I was sending money to Israel. I think I put my money where my mouth is.

I also Bless Israel with my prayers. I think the Lord has already Blessed her because those 2000 plus missiles could have done a lot more damage then they did. I don't know if others can see it, but I see that God is not neutral when it comes to Israel. I think the Lord has it all under control. May be a naive way to go, but it gets me through tough times.

I also know that tough times never last but tough people do.
