A hit-and-run raid? A hit on Nasrallah? A snatch-and-grab to get the kidnapped soldiers back?

Not that I know anything, but my first thought was that it was your last option. In any case, praying for Israeli success. Go IDF!!

If it's a hit and run, why not wait till their home to announce it? Why announce it during the op?

Is it known for sure that Israel announced it? If so, that doesn't seem to jibe with a commando raid, does it.

CNN announced it for them.

They didn't, and in fact denied they had troops on the ground. The Lebanese security forces made the call to Al Reuters, and the Clinton News Network.

The CNN story says commandos entered the hospital and checked everyone's ID. Looking for their soldiers? Or someone high up in Hezbollah?
