I don't think the phone records are going to show anything that can be of use. How to determine what was said in the conversations?.

They all have direct dial numbers, and only limited numbers of people use those direct dial numbers. It is not necessarily going to show what was said, but it can give times and possibly durations, and from what number to what number. For example, if it is a call from Joe Blowhard's direct dial number to Mustapha Evil's direct number, they have a means to make further relevant inquires about calls that were made after they learned of the search and before the search was conducted.

On the other hand, if there were no calls from one number to the next, they would know that if there was a communication, it took place by some other means, such as in person discussion, or another phone systems, etc.

At least they can start there to search for more evidence.
