A little while ago they posted what Tony Blair is saying. It is about 180 degrees from what he has been saying. Wasn't the story that Tony was trying to get Bush to agree to an immediate cease fire?

There had to be a huge disinformation campaign going on to fool Syria, Iran, Lebanon, and Hezbollah.

This took Terrorist Nations from thinking..we almost have them in surrender mode to OH MY GOD... THIS COULD ESCALATE INTO a real disaster for us. It has to be a real shock. Israel just went from wimp to tough man. And there is little descent in the west.. France is isolated.

I noticed that Germany changed sides today. They withdrew from the call by France for an immediate cease fire. Did the Germans get told what was coming down the pike?

All that talk about JUST DAYS LEFT... may be over. Now it is about Israel taking the territory and holding it until a multi national force gets arranged. That could take a good ten year or so. With Israel holding the territory Israel will decide when and if to give up control to a multi national force.

I felt certain all along that Israel just wanted to get rid of most of the civilians in Southern Lebanon so they could say if you are in Southern Lebanon you are Hezbollah. When there are few if any civilians to hide behind, the terrorists don't stand much of a chance.

In any event Tony is giving a different impression than yesterday.

I suspect you're right.

I can't keep up with a lot of this, since I can only really read the thread and watch Fox early in the morning or after the granadkids go home. I am missing a lot of the undercurrents. What you say, however, makes a lot of sense.

my explanation for this - Israel has committed to step up the action. until Israel demonstrated it was willing to go all in, you can't have the western allies out there saying "hezbollah must be defeated", if israel wasn't ready to commit to do that.
