Frank Herbert was a visionary. Consider how many arabic terms were used in the Dune series. Substitute "spice" with "oil" and take it from there.

Absolutely agree about Herbert being a visionary, and the alliterative language comparison with today's issues. I have read, and re-read the series many times.
