For those companies not to be outsourced. Because then, despite the US taxpayer and citizen 'affording' them the luxury of operating in this country, the citizens of other countries reap the benefit.
You get a thriving community that supports a multitude of small businesses from coffee shops to gas stations to auto dealers, affording small businesses many an opportunity to thrive. You get the tax revenue into local coffers allowing for road improvements, libraries and other gov't funded "necessities". You get blighted neighborhoods being replaced by upscale ones. You get wealthy CEOs and corporations donating money to the arts and sciences. You get employment opportunities to share in the success.
This is precisely what we DON'T get with outsourcing and offshoring. This is precisely why we see a declining domestic economy, in spite of the "free traders" claim that our economy is the best ever. Because its NOT.
