I am getting so weary.
You and me both. And I no longer believe that the Lebanese are unwilling hostages to Hizbollah. They've made their support clear. And I don't believe for a minute that that support miraculously mushroomed overnight when Israel struck back at the Hizbollah terrorists.

It must have been one of those "operational pauses" And hopefully Hezbollah fell for it and thought it was safe enough to start moving their weaponry around to safer areas and got spotted.

And here we have Rush criticizing Olmert. Calling him a liberal and a lawyer with no military experience.
Then he takes a caller who agrees with him. Israel is not the old Israel, Olmert is not doing the right thing.
Frankly, I am sick of Rush and his superior schtick. No doubt we'll get the same crap from Sean this afternoon. Bashing the President, bashing Olmert. After all, they know so much more.
No other Israeli PM took on the terrorists the way Olmert is taking them on......and yet, the carping is incessant

Thanks. This is an excellent development. And the UN thing was a nice additional touch. He just bought the Israelis a few more weeks to destroy Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Right < /sarc>...I found a bit of news from the AP too:
..."The stunning bloodshed in Qana increased international pressure on Washington to back an immediate end to the fighting, and pushed American peace efforts to a crucial juncture as fury flared in Lebanon. The Beirut government said it would no longer negotiate over a U.S. peace package without an unconditional cease-fire.
The attack prompted U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to cut short her Mideast mission to return home Monday. In a nationally televised speech before leaving Israel,
Rice said she would seek international consensus for a CEASE-FIRE and a "lasting settlement" in the conflict through a U.N. Security Council resolution this week..."

You mistranlated. How come all the arabs are complaining about the "lasting peace" that Bush has Condi pushing?
You know why, and you also know why Bush has not called for a cease fire. And won't until the conditions he outlined are agreed to. Which may take weeks if not months. That is called cover, and we are the ONLY country holding this position.

They forgot the part about Hizbollah attacking Israeli tanks first.
Would those people qualify for a Darwn award?

And here we have Rush criticizing Olmert. Calling him a liberal and a lawyer with no military experience.Well, Rush has certainly earned the authority to do so, after all he is a lush, and a law-breaker, with no military experience.

I am hoping that the definition of "a lasting peace" means, first, wiping out all of Islam.

In this crazy world, they qualify for the Nobel Peace prize(see Arafat). In the real world, they qualify for a good lambasting courtesy of the IDF.

If only the world would recognise that no other peace is possible, until Islam(the followers of the pervert Mohammed and his moon god)is obliterated. They are born to kill, and to die-let's give them their wish.

Yeah...well, I've experienced "Bush rhetoric" too many times before to believe in "cover" as you do. I remember "Read My Lips," "Reagan Voo-Doo Economics," and "Saddam Will Fall on His Own Accord" from the old man. And I remember "No Child Left Behind," "Brownie, You're Doing a Heck of a Job," and (worst of all) "Mission Accomplished!" from the chip off the old block.

You are full of it. Bush has been giving Ohlmert cover since this first started, and contiues to do so today.
If by cover, you mean working with the UN to pressure Israel into a ceasefire and allowing its enemies to slink away and attack them again in the future, then yes, Bush is providing Ohlmert cover.

What did President Bush say about this earlier today?
Rice said, speaking as the delegate of the US government, that they were working with the UN towards some kind of three-way deal - a ceasefire, Israel pulls back, and UN troops help Lebanon gain control of the South.
The problem there, is that Israel, at this point, can't give up the territory they are occupying, because if they do, Hezbollah will be right back on the border, and we've seen how useful the UN and Lebanon have been in the past several years in controlling them - Israel pulles out of Lebanon, pulls out of Gaza, and yet they are still attacked from those areas.
Israel has to have a buffer zone, and it's disturbing that we (the US) don't want them to have one. If the same thing happened to the US, and somebody was firing 100+ rockets a day into Texas, California, etc., I have a hard-time believing the US is going to listen to the UN, etc., who are calling for a ceasefire.
