My wife, daughter and I came this || close to being wiped out by a drunk driver nine years ago. Had I been driving a half a tick slower, the accident would have been head on at 50 MPH instead of hitting me in my left front tire. My wife has had three surgeries and will be in pain the rest of her life (she's 45). I have recurring back problems from the accident. Fortunately, my infant (at the time) daughter was properly buckled in and appears to have survived without injury (so far).
I detest those who drive drunk, but I am a fierce believer in personal responsibility. Why should I be punished for the actions of others? Why should I lose my freedoms because others abuse them?

(6 things you can't have too much of: sex, money, firewood, horsepower, guns and ammunition.)
Very sorry about your accident. Best wishes to you and your family.I guess this article was about the smoking ban and its affect on business. I think people should be able to smoke at bars. If a person doesn't like second hand smoke, just stay out of bars. The workplace where you are a captive audience is another matter altogether. I support smoking bans in the workplace and other public places.
