Darn!!! people have to pay to test software for them? If they cannot afford the bandwidth to get so many people to download, and they think they have enough beta users, they should just cut off the beta! I dont understand such decision. haven't they have had enough bad press?

My guess is that this is for purpose of putting a credit card number with your download and confirming who you are.

OpenOffice (the free version) and StarOffice (small fee, support) are pretty good, and they work with M$ files (even for the presentation software).
