Helicopters are all around my neighborhood nightly. They appear to be tracking down criminals. They have search lights that follow them on the ground.
Oh, yeah, I'm used to them, too - but I was especially antsy last night because they had said they wouldn't publicize any of the security measures they were taking right there in that (well, *this*) area.
This is the largest concentration of the Jewish population in this city. I know we have 30,000 Lebanese who were having a fund-raiser last night - and they were also meeting not far from here. It seemed like a recipe for turmoil.
Fortunately that has only happened to me once in my lifetime.
Unfortunately, it was the very FIRST night I had ever stayed home alone as a young adult. My parents and siblings were out of town and I had decided to stay home.
