There are plenty of Christians who have countered Mel's stance by promoting Israel. Rather than Christians believing they are God's Chosen people, they subjugate themselves as being also-rans by stating Jews hold that status. instead

Well, if your a Christian,then you believe the Bible,and God Himself said that they are His chosen people. Christians aren't "also rans", they are the fullfillment of the promise of God's salvation. But the Jewish people still retain their special place in God's heart. I don't have a problem with that.

The Jews/Israel has and will always be God's chosen people, and the Genital world ( or believers ) were in grafted into the family of the chosen people by God by Jesus Christ and fulfilled God's promises in the Bible.
It has always been God's salvation plan to save the world to use the nation of Israel to bring salvation to the world.
The Jews and the believers in Christ are all of God's chosen people, the Bible says it, and no one can detract from it, and if someone has a problem with it, then they have a problem with God's plan and Holy word.

The Jews stopped being the "chosen People" when Christ came.

I'm not much on religion but Christ said "no one comes to the father, but through me".

Why God allows other religions and how these believers will be treated in the afterlife is known only to him.
