Israel screwed up when they didn't finish this inside of a week. I suspect their govt was wary about troop losses. There will be hell to pay for this failure to finish the job.
I didn't expect Israel to finish up in a week, but I did expect them to bring full force and firepower (including full scale ground operations) to smash Hizbullah's military capabilities.
Instead Israel conducted a defensive half hearted effort full of apologies to the UN, Lebanese, etc.
At this point, Israel has strengthened not weakened Hizbullah and weakened their own position in the region.
