I keep noting that people keep assuming that the "children" are little kids, rather than teenage combatants. Iran, who controls Hezbollah, has a history of using young boys as combatants. During the Iran-Iraq war, Iran used children to clear minefields by marching across them ahead of the older soldiers.

To a certain mentality, children are more expendable than older soldiers. Children have had less invested into them, and can be easily replaced by their women just having more babies.
