oh, dang....sofa!!
Are you just now getting the news??? I have been waiting for you to come on this thread and talk sense into some of the freepers that are being very pessimistic....
NOOOOOOO...it is not a 48 hour cease-fire.
Israel has called 24-48 hour cessation of aerial strikes on south Lebanon...so that they can investigate Qana..AND the rest of the civilians in south Lebanon have a chance to leave.
However, they will still shoot artillery rounds, have a ground attacks...fire in other parts of Lebanon...AND, if they see activity by Hezbollah, that they are going to fire at Israel...all bets are off.
Now...SOME are saying this is it...it is over, Israel caved..and lost..
Hezbollah won, "big time"!
Now..your thoughts, please?
The fact still remains that the Israelis had warned the populace to leave, repeatedly. even resorting to telephone calls to the "hitee" telling them to get the hell out of the way.
Why didn't they leave? Could it be that they were prevented from leaving?
Everyone jumped to conclusions on this hit awfully fast, didn't they? Tony Blair crapped his pants, Kofi "the Jew-hater", was oh, so upset.
Was Kofi as upset when his UN "peacekeepers" were caught, quite literally, with their pants down? That little episode was swept under the rug pretty quickly, wasn't it?
But, without investigation, there is condemnation, hand-wringing, and kvetching.
Lost in all of this, is the Lebanese PM, thanking Hezbollah for their sacrifice during this war.
