I've heard it. It's trite, but true. If the sniper is working in a team, sometimes the poor bastards don't even get a chance to run.
Sometime ago, a multiple shooter team set up an ambush. Working with a patrol, they rigged a transport - Hummer or APC - with a flash-bang and smoke, so that it looked like it had run over an IED. The patrol took the bait into an area where they had had trouble, performed their 'we've been blown up' act, and cleared the area, leaving the 'burning' vehicle behind. Sure enough, a bunch of locals ran out to celebrate and take pictures, some of them climbing onto the vehicle and doing the 'monkey pump' for the cameras.
Right in front of the team of snipers who were set up for crossfire on the carefully located bait.
A few died tired. Most just died.

That's why it is good to get things like this reported. Thanks
