You are right. I specifically stated that the non religious Jews in hollywood care mostly about getting the deal and $$$$. Again, do you live in Los Angeles? Do you know anyone in the entertainment business? To answer your question, I am not in denial about what Mel supposedly said. Being "Jewish" myself, I am deeply disappointed at the thought that he could say such vile and erroneous things. I defended his right to make Passion of the Christ (which I saw and thought it was abrilliant film making- albiet a bit too violent). I defended him from those who blindly called him an anti semite just because he made a movie about Christ that showed the involvement of Jews in Christ's demise (don't misinterpret that to mean I think Jews killed christ). But,as I stated in a much earlier post, before your misinterpretation, I now see Mel is an anti semite. The beauty of alcohol is that it's a truth serum. Get someone drunk and they will really tell you what they think. Mel just showed to the world what he really thinks about Jews. And this American, who happens to be Jewish, lost all respect and admiration for him. I still don't think he'll be hurt in the industry. He might be hurt box office wise and we'll see with the opening gross of Apocalypto which i won't be seeing. You are wrong. It takes a lot to hurt someone as successful as Gibson, but I believe he has managed to 86 his film career.

Hollywood, as everyone knows, is a very Jewish town. And even Mel Gibson needs the network. By that I mean, even if you have enough money to fully bankroll a film shoot, you need distributors, PR flacks, etc. He will be punished by Hollywood, as he should be. He might make a few more vanity films, but his career is basically kaput.

You don't get to where Mel is in Hollywood without having had a few Jews in your corner. And now all the Jews who gave him a leg up, producers, fellow actors, agents, etc., know what he's about.
