TMZ has learned that Mel Gibson went on a rampage when he was arrested Friday on suspicion of drunk driving, hurling religious epithets. TMZ has also learned that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department had the initial report doctored to keep the real story under wraps.
TMZ has four pages of the original report prepared by the arresting officer in the case, L.A. County Sheriff's Deputy James Mee. According to the report, Gibson became agitated after he was stopped on Pacific Coast Highway and told he was to be detained for drunk driving Friday morning in Malibu. The actor began swearing uncontrollably. Gibson repeatedly said, "My life is f****d." Law enforcement sources say the deputy, worried that Gibson might become violent, told the actor that he was supposed to cuff him but would not, as long as Gibson cooperated. As the two stood next to the hood of the patrol car, the deputy asked Gibson to get inside. Deputy Mee then walked over to the passenger door and opened it. The report says Gibson then said, "I'm not going to get in your car," and bolted to his car. The deputy quickly subdued Gibson, cuffed him and put him inside the patrol car.
Once inside the car, a source directly connected with the case says Gibson began banging himself against the seat. The report says Gibson told the deputy, "You mother f****r. I'm going to f*** you." The report also says "Gibson almost continually [sic] threatened me saying he 'owns Malibu' and will spend all of his money to 'get even' with me."
The report says Gibson then launched into a barrage of anti-Semitic statements: "F*****g Jews... The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world." Gibson then asked the deputy, "Are you a Jew?"
The deputy became alarmed as Gibson's tirade escalated, and called ahead for a sergeant to meet them when they arrived at the station. When they arrived, a sergeant began videotaping Gibson, who noticed the camera and then said, "What the f*** do you think you're doing?"
A law enforcement source says Gibson then noticed another female sergeant and yelled, "What do you think you're looking at, sugar tits?"
We're told Gibson took two blood alcohol tests, which were videotaped, and continued saying how "f****d" he was and how he was going to "f***" Deputy Mee.
Gibson was put in a cell with handcuffs on. He said he needed to urinate, and after a few minutes tried manipulating his hands to unzip his pants. Sources say Deputy Mee thought Gibson was going to urinate on the floor of the booking cell and asked someone to take Gibson to the bathroom.
After leaving the bathroom, Gibson then demanded to make a phone call. He was taken to a pay phone and, when he didn't get a dial tone, we're told Gibson threw the receiver against the phone. Deputy Mee then warned Gibson that if he damaged the phone he could be charged with felony vandalism. We're told Gibson was then asked, and refused, to sign the necessary paperwork and was thrown in a detox cell.
Deputy Mee then wrote an eight-page report detailing Gibson's rampage and comments. Sources say the sergeant on duty felt it was too "inflammatory." A lieutenant and captain then got involved and calls were made to Sheriff's headquarters. Sources say Mee was told Gibson's comments would incite a lot of "Jewish hatred," that the situation in Israel was "way too inflammatory." It was mentioned several times that Gibson, who wrote, directed, and produced 2004's "The Passion of the Christ," had incited "anti-Jewish sentiment" and "For a drunk driving arrest, is this really worth all that?"
We're told Deputy Mee was then ordered to write another report, leaving out the incendiary comments and conduct. Sources say Deputy Mee was told the sanitized report would eventually end up in the media and that he could write a supplemental report that contained the redacted information -- a report that would be locked in the watch commander's safe.
Initially, a Sheriff's official told TMZ the arrest occurred "without incident." On Friday night, Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told TMZ: "The L.A. County Sheriff's Department investigation into the arrest of Mr. Gibson on suspicion of driving under the influence will be complete and will contain every factual piece of evidence. Nothing will be sanitized. There was absolutely no favoritism shown to this suspect or any other. When this file is presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney, it will contain everything. Nothing will be left out."
Gibson's rep Alan Nierob tells TMZ: "We are unaware of any of the information you mentioned in your email pertaining to a police report."
Exactly what everybody who swears at the police says -- about three hours earlier.
Actually, it's more funny than disgusting, as presented. Click on the 'movie' and it's an animated goofy version featuring all the things he said, in timeline fashion. It's a .swf file.
I just got home from taking the kids to see Cars, finally. I thought it was a really sweet movie.
Thanks for the update. Seems to generally confirm what happened. If 1.2 BAC gets you that point, Mel's probably best never touching it again. At least he's man enough to admit his mistake and take responsibility for it unlike a certain former White House occupant who needed eight months and a blue dress to do that.
I'll agree with you there. Typically, one doesn't get roaring drunk at that level, though it has happened. Also, in combination with drugs, he could have been drunker than $700.
Normally, if one has a DUI suspect blowing over the legal limit, the police look no further, as in drugs in the system.
Now he has confirmed his 'reprehensible' comments himself, so I guess it's true. :(
Many of those that are jewish aren't religious and could care less about their judiasm. They are all about the deal and $$$.
Oh, dear. How can I ever watch "The Passion" again after knowing this about Mel.
It doesn't change the truth of the movie. :)
Ha, ha, ha, ha, please stop you are killing me!
How about for starters, Mary Magdelene was NOT the whore, MEL or the catholic church paints her out to be???
The catholic church EVEN ADMITTED this error in 1962. So you can choose to believe the garbage this man puts on film. It is your life.
Also what kind of LOSER has a "invitation only" into his "private" church?
This guy is just too funny!
"Me, I'm not about to cast aspersions on anyone who babbles incoherently after having had one too many. Just about everyone I know -- myself included -- has been down that route a time or two."
The difference here is that if you or I go out and say a few nasty things it hurts those to only who may be in the area, our mistakes go unnoticed. With MEL GIBSON saying this type of stuff it thus becomes OUTRAGEOUS. How can anyone now look at this man and not believe that this guy has hatred for a group of people??
You have no idea how wrong you are about that. When it comes to Israel and Judaism as a culture, you'd be surprised how defensive one becomes. And your comment about only caring about money is, in itself, a pretty racist comment.
Out of curiosity, do you happen to live in Los Angeles and deal with those in the entertainment industry?
Many of those that are jewish aren't religious and could care less about their judiasm. They are all about the deal and $$$."
That comment makes me extremely suspicious of your views.
Friend of mel's are ya?
For count (c), Mel will have to devote a long time and a significant sum to Jewish charities and supporting Israel.
What you're saying makes no sense. In your previous post you said Mel portrayed "Jewish people as grotesque and evil". For the 100th time, JESUS WAS A JEW HIMSELF and so were His followers i.e. there were GOOD jews and BAD jews around the time of Jesus, just as there are good and bad in EVERY race and faith in every period of time. What's your point?
Quite frankly, I think you problems as serious as Gibsons.
I think that purpleporter is a troll.
In post 309, 314 and 319, he argues that the movie is not an accurate portrayal. In post 326, he states Jesus is a fable. THEN, in post 427, he starts arguing about the churches stand on Mary Magdaline and that she's not a wh***. It's called "baiting". He has 12 posts and 10 are arguing on this thread. Either he's a troll or he possesses no logic.
Well said (if I may say so).
"Using" an ultra-rich man of privilege to find the truth? If I may reciprocate: What in the world are YOU talking about? Peering into Gibson's temperament could finally shed some insight as to the elitist control over the very opportunities the "truly hopeless" never see. This could finally expose the real control freaks. With a fan base like no other, I can assure you it will take some kind of celebrity like Gibson to expose the truth of what really goes on behind the scenes. You really do not think that getting the truth out will be done from one of us who cannot even afford Justice, do you? Let alone the means and resources to expose these bozos at the top without ruining credibility?
You might be assured in knowing my hope is that by exposing the elitism through celebrity, it may bring MORE hope for us poor bas$&%*'$ at the bottom. Yeah, that is right...I am one of those who have been robbed of opportunity. Just what makes you think that I have a need to "stretch" when I have been stretching what little means I have to make ends meet most of my life?
As I said before, who would listen to a corn-fed podunk like me of the many things I have learned with regards to corruption at the top? Other than the political experience I have gained through lobbying, seeing how the system REALLY works and to whose favor it works for, and contrasting that with the way things ought to be as eloquently provided by great works such as John Locke's Two Treastises of Governement, Alexis de Toqueville's Democracy in America, Thomas Paine's Common Sense and The Rights of Man, and let us not forget The Declaration of Independence and the Federalist Papers, I am a nobody.
Mel Gibson is not. This man has PRODUCED! And I might add, at the defiance of those who seek nothing more than the power to control the behavior of the masses. He has already proven that he can act independently of the control freaks and produce whatever HE wants to produce. You know the ol Navy saying of throwing a wrench in it? I believe this has been the effect of Gibson's independence and it has pissed those off at the top because, unbeknownst (my word) to them, they made Gibson who he is today.
Now, how is THAT for a slap in the face?
Again, I believe his drunken tirade exposes a hint of the truth for disdain of those at the top of the movie-making industry who have sought to soil is name. That just happens to be mostly jews.
Some of us may shove aside any outbursts of drunkeness, but there is some truth in the simile of phrases like, "Drunks tell the truth," or "A shot of courage." As a matter of fact, you will find that in most people, they will expose some of their most shielded, deep-seated thoughts because of alchoholic influence.
I think Gibson's reaction to the officer was a defense mechanism to shield him from what has been a constant threat from those movie moguls' incessant rampage to ruin Gibson's life.
Now, unless you and the likes of the veronicas on this board have a problem with that, may I comfort you in the knowledge that I have already admitted that much of this is conjecture and may not be true. These are my theories based upon my observations of what Gibson has suffered as a result of producing the Passion and the courage his father has shown in sacrificing his honor by exposing the truth of unorthodox, secular jewish influences at the top of our multi-media world. Personally, I have no doubt in my mind that these elitists at the top have issued a MEDIA campaign to destroy the Gibson's. And the Gibson's would not be the first.
I will close with a question: Let us say that my observations are accurate for arguments sake. If these secular jewish elitists are successful in bringing down an independently adorned celebrity like Mel Gibson, then what do you think they could do to a gentile commoner like myself?
Disgusting. Yes indeed...it's the joos like me.
No, he may have "hatred" for some of their actions.
There is a difference.
