House Conservatives Circulate Letter on Minimum Wage
FreedomWorks ^

Posted on 07/28/2006 7:10:44 AM PDT by Solow591

Despite the clear economic case against a higher federal minimum wage, "moderates" in Congress are continuing the push the issue. Fortunately, House conservatives are not going along with this misguided effort, and members of the Republican Study Committee circulated this letter on Capitol Hill yesterday.

Why on earth do you want THAT?

Have you ever had a simple econ class?

What part of the fact that minimum wages are entry level jobs for people with NO skills at all and that the ONLY reason the Dems want to keep raising them, is because UNION SALARIES are tied to the minimum wage don't you get?

The higher the minimum wage, the fewer the jobs, BTW.

Keep in mind that you are an ignorant bleeding heart, who doesn't understand, nor care about reality; someone much better suited to being on DU.

So, I have a friend who is also my brother's brother in law who is union. He works in the budweiser brewery in Houston. Good wages, free health care, good treatment, and free beer. And the company is very profitable.

I can understand typos, but besides NOT understanding economics at all, neither are you able to spell the words you use correctly.

mute means unable to/incapable of of speech, or just quite. Something you should remain, when you neither know or understand a topic.

OTOH, moot is the word you actually meant to use.

Fess up, you're 12 years old and were left back two grades.

You don't start a sentence with "so"!

Your anecdotal reference makes NO sense at all and is in NO WAY a refutation to what I said!

The name of companies are ALWAYS capitalized!

Union wages and perks have ruined more companies than they have helped workers!

You're completely out of your depth here...go back to DU!

"The high wage begins down in the shop. If it is not created there it cannot get into pay envelopes. There will never be a system invented which will do away with the necessity for work."
-- Henry Ford
There is one rule for the industrialist and that is: Make the best quality of goods possible at the lowest cost possible, paying the highest wages possible.

The minimum wage is dumb economics and besides it's none of government's darned business what two parties agree to. The only legitimate interest of the government is to enforce the agreement.

I someone wants to work for $3.00 per hour, it's none of government's business.

A minimum wage doesn't mean the person always has to work for minimum wage. It's stupid and politicians who know it damages those it purports to help, do it anyway because they depend on the ignorant populace to fall for it.
