Conservative national security allies of President Bush are in revolt against Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, saying that she is incompetent and has reversed the administrations national security and foreign policy agenda.
The conservatives, who include Newt Gingrich, Richard Perle and leading current and former members of the Pentagon and National Security Council, have urged the president to transfer Miss Rice out of the State Department and to an advisory role. They said Miss Rice, stemming from her lack of understanding of the Middle East, has misled the president on Iran and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Although, it's an obvious hit piece against Condi Rice, I have to say that I agree with the criticisms against her, based upon seeing her actions in the news. Truthfully, I've never been that impressed with her, even as President Bush's National Security Advisor, and in recent months, she has just seemed like a bumbler on the world stage, particularly with Iran and North Korea.
Personally, I wish that 'Big John' Bolton was the Secretary of State, but the problem is that in going after her, Gingrich, Perle, et al might as well be going after President Bush's kid sister.
I don't care. Bush needs to lose Rice.
And, you'd be just as wrong on that thread as you are on this one.
Gingrich, Perle, et al are on the outs, and so, naturally, they're sniping.
Newt is screwing himself royally with his unhelpful remarks, of late.
Unhelpful to what? Newt is right. Condi just went over to the middle East and pulled more of the land for peace garbage. That's insane.
Why does Bush need to lose Rice?
And yes, I know that Gingrich and Perle are on the outs, but there is a lot of smoke here behind the scenes and probably some truth in it all.
What the hell did you search with?

She's not speaking on her on, you know.
Gingrich wants a confrontational war with Iran, which is nutty.
I used the FR search function with the article's title.
Now that's funny!
Then he'd go down to the White House, and suck up to Clinton, and he'd come out mouthing stuff about how he and Clinton could "work together."
Gingrich is a good idea man, but a terrible tactical politician.
Uh... she isn't "pulling" anything... other than to play the role of the third party diplomat. I don't see anybody jumping in front of Isreali tanks. Nobody seems to be too worried that Isreal is kicking the crap out of Hezbollah. Oh, sure, there's some lip service to pretend... but that's it.
I second the motion to boot Condi out and replace her with Bolton.
Agree, sink. Newt is a deluded opportunist (Hannity enabling), who would be lucky to be elected dogcatcher. President? It is a laff.
Like Alan Keyes, his ambition clouds his reality.

Hiya, bud.
Just don't. Jesus, please us. I am sick to my death of 24/7 keyboarders jumping on dupe posters. I had NOT seen the other one and was glad to see this one. Jim Rob has mods to clear dupes. Take it up with them and him.
