Ann Coulter just on Cavuto being interviewed.

She wanted to "remind the viewers" that the normal election cycle is for the party in the White House to lose seats. She expects this election to be one where Republicans lose seats. She added "a lot of seats" before Neil moved on to another question.

The normal range is between 20-30 in an off year election, when President's party loses seats. We'd lose control of Congress if the trends hold up. We can hope the polls are wrong and things break our way by November. But that's a long shot.

"Yeah, way back in the summer of last year (when you joined us) things were different around here. LOL!!!"

No, way back in 1997, when I first started reading and posting here.

LOL

I think that's on the money. Being in the opposition will be good for the GOP. The party has drifted away from its roots and yes people are fed up with the taxes, the spending and the growth of government under Republican watch. We don't have a conservative movement in this country and when there's an absence of leadership, the country suffers. It could be worse.

Nope. Not a dime's worth of difference between the two parties.

I say there's "not a dollar's worth of difference." Cost of living and all.

Many elderly are actually going backwards due to the increases

By "going backwards", you mean they are getting less free stuff they haven't paid for, don't you?

Ozzymandus was just on the free republic posting.....

He wanted to "remind the viewers" that Ann while the diva of the GOP is not omniscent. He said "So what" before the board moved on to another poster.

"Bob Novack, not a an accurate source..."

I think he made the same prediction in 2004.

And IIRC, in 2002. He is about as reliable as Dick Morris when it comes to predicting elections.

Incidentally, why do many so-called "real" conservatives think that what this country needs is for Nancy Pelosi and the Rats to take over the House? I don't get it. That's cutting of your nose, and mine, to spite your face. I object to that.

You know what? I agree with you. Not about the trolling but everything you said after. There's certainly no reason, as far as I can tell, for her to be criticized for this. I appreciate that you gave a well-reasoned analysis of the situation without a single name being called. I hope we can have another such conversation in the future. Have a nice evening.

I don't see anything that indicates the population has fundamentally shifted more liberal - this isn't like Vietnam no matter how much certain people would like it to be. But the public isn't happy with the government as a whole.

If the Democrats make this a referendum on whether the public approves of the government- the Dems win. If the Republicans can make each race about the individual who best represents those constituents, the Republicans can win.

And the President's team needs to raise money for the candidates while letting each race stay local. In fact, it needs to be more than the Democrats can raise to offset the built in media bias.

Your squishy liberal Republicanism will devestate us in this coming election.

To be called a "squish" by a libertine shows a lot of chutzpah, Laz.

When you take a hard look at who the RATS would install as committee chairman, So that is how we got Arlen Specter...........

After six years of having Ted Kennedy as committee chairman, you'll be begging to wash Specter's socks.

"The normal range is between 20-30 in an off year election, when President's party loses seats."

I wonder if this holds true when the House is more closely divided as it is now. I would think that there would be less room for a big swing. Don't have time to figure it out though.

Because they are frauds. Most are miserably unhappy whiners who love more company.
