Sorry I don't consider the most fraudulently used document a good start.

OOOPS! I had not read that far when I replied!

I should have known it was not an original idea.

I think this is a sound idea from Cong Tancredo. Glad to see Tancredo advancing conservative policy in the GOP controlled House. Any legislation that properly curbs illegal immigration is worthy of support. We'll see how much support this bill gets, above and beyond the House Immigration Reform Caucus.

In addition, the side effect of driving the open borders/amnesty crowd of liberals and libertarians totally bonkers, delights me to no end.

Very unreasonable to have to show ID to vote. /sarcasm

What is the source of the "estimate" of 300,000 illegals registered to vote in one state? Not impossible, but I'm skeptical.

Also, as to how you "prove" citizenship, other than a passport -- a certificate of birth in the US, if genuine, proves citizenship, but only under an interpretation of the Fourteenth samendment that some reject. Otherwise, you've got to get into your ancestry. For example, Geroge Romney, who ran for the GOP nomination in 1968 and was Gov. of Michigan, was born in Mexico, of American parents fleeing persecution of polygamists -- so even if he had a birth certificate, it would have shown Mexico, although his american parentage would make him a citizen by a statute that I don't think anyone challenges.

If you are in that type of position, you have to have a long and interesting conversation with the State Dept. to get a passport.

Illegal votes may MAY? have made the difference in at least one Congressional election. In 1996, Rep. Bob Dornan lost his Orange County, California seat to Loretta Sanchez by fewer than 1,000 votes. State elections officials found that at least 300 votes AT LEAST? in that election were cast illegally by non-citizens.

What a master of diplomacy. Sanchez was elected by illegals, dead illegals, imaginary illegals who lived in imaginary houses, illegals with multiple addresses and names, not to mention registering felons while they were in prison. Sanchez and her DNC team pulled every scam in the Vote Fraud book on poor old B-1 Bob. At the time I thought it may have been payback for the old geezer, because he had his head in ano on the illegal alien subject for years ... until he lost his job! Then, he could get no one, not even in the GOP, to listen to him!

May? At Least? HA HA! That's rich. If they had photo ID voter cards and proof of citizenship requirements in California, the voter rolls would be cut by 600,000, and it would turn into a Republican State.

Hello? Kerry took at least 5 states by fraud. Maybe W will mention it in his third term? Or Karl Rove, the boy genius who can turn Republican sure-thing landslides into scarily close contests at great expense.

Orin Hatch is about as much of a gutless panderer as they come. I remember him speaking during the Clinton impeachment... All show and no go.

Not to just be ornery but IMO Congressmen Sensenbrenner and Tancredo are the only two good guys in the entire Congress. The rest just hide under their wings hoping that they won't be harmed by the voters.

I have been watching the criminal illegals rip America apart and only two men have come to her aid. They are the I see as being men worthy of our respect and financial contributions.

I would vote for either one of them or both should they decide to run for President and VP.

While I'm at it let me give a cheer for Senator Inhofe, another true patriot, IMO. He is the man who stands strong against the communist run United Nations, 100% of the time!

It is damn sad that only 3 men out of 537 in DC come to my mind as true American patriots.

Having been an employer, I think, without the hard evidence to back it up, that you're assertion may be wrong. IMHO, the SS card would be the most fraudulently used document in my experience.

"more republicans in office"

Big deal. They have had the majority for years now and America is still going downhill. It is long past time to bring in and build a strong 3rd party that loves America.

Your skepticism eminently qualifies you for a post on the RNC. Just as a heads up, the Mayor of Detroit admitted to 150,000 phony registrations in his fair city alone.

If there are not at least 500,000 falsely registered illegal aliens in California, I'll drive each one of the bastards back to his country of origin and buy him a drink on the way.

Also, if they all have fruadulent BC's, how are you going to tell who is illegal to ship them back to their countries of origin?

Doesn't seem that solution would work for the same reasons.

Nope, when the Real ID Act kicks in, a driver's liscense will have to meet a set of strict criteria in order to be accepted as valid ID for federal purposes. Sounds like bill could be one of them under this bill.

States that hand out DLS that don't meet the critieria would have to figure something else out. More incentive to comply.

Those who don't want non-citizens identified to keep our republic OURS...will always find something wrong with required ID, they will not want to find a solution.

Yeah, their pretty easy to spot aren't they.
