And even if they do so, lying for the advancement of Islam is a duty, so you can't believe them.

Believe it or not, there are many, probably millions, of "reform" muslims. Not whacked out at all. You'd probably call them MINO's. Other parts of the world, like Turkey and Indonesia are full of them. Alot of Egyptians too. Having said that, there are not nearly enough of them.

IIRC, there was a survey, that showed that about 10% of Muslims worldwide that agreed with Osama. Heck, thats 100 million targets right there..

It's hard to know. I talked to a Christian Iranian co-worker who left Iran after the Shah fell, and he told me that "yeah, we used to get along fine with the Muslims." "But what percentage would you characterize as 'fundamentalist'?" "Oh, about 60%." I couldn't figure that one out.

The Lebanese Christian I know, who travels back and forth frequently, said that they used to get along fine with the Mohammedans.

So what to think? I suspect that when attacked or under pressure as a group, the bulk of the wishy-washy Mohammedans will come down on the side of fundamentalism.

Mohammedans are notoriously difficult to evangelize. One of the few hopes I have for their conversion is the gradual weakening of theocratic controls by introducing democratic procedures, as we are doing in Iraq.
