Canada had a global voice??
Who knew?
"Canada's once-distinct voice is becoming harder to distinguish from that of the United States."
Well stated. The only thing that the Canadian left has to distinguish itself is contraposition to the United States. It's also infantile to keep trying to "distinguish" yourself by taking the contrary stand to anything that the Americans are doing.
Real courage means standing for something, not standing in opposition to someone you don't like.
On the other hand, as I always say when traveling down the Alaska Highway, Canada is a beautiful country. Polite people, no litter, quaint backwater villages, really bad local television, even worse radio - have you ever had to listen to CBC North for days on end between the Liard River and the Alaska border? Nice neighboring country, too - I don't see armies of immigrants from Sasketchwan crossing the border illegally into North Dakota and eastern Montana. Politics like the ones stated in this article, though, are the reason Canada is politically a second-rate nation.
