Please explain the shortcomings in the existing laws which require reforming.

See post #18. These are just two out of dozens of current immigration laws that have contradictory enforcement or requirement methods and need reforming. People say all the time that this is 'easy as enforcing current laws', but it isn't. So many current laws have been passed, that any law you pick is contradicted by another.

Very disapointing.I've read recently that the number of illegals in the US is around 30 million(ie more than twice the number DC claims).

And about 99% of those are turned down.

The 5 year rule is quite different and based on illegal presence as opposed to a criminal act.

Pence's plan, would wipe out illegal presence all together.

To say nothing of the funding FAIR receives from the Pioneer Fund:

Please explain the shortcomings in the existing laws which require reforming.

Please explain what Pence's *NEW* plan will do when these millions of illegal aliens don't go home.

Please explain what penalties Pence's *NEW* law will exact on the Executive branch when it refuses to enforce Pence's *NEW* law as they've done with the existing laws.

That is one of the rubs in the current laws.. illegal entry is only a misdemeanor and the asylum or entry laws only have stipulations against felony breaches.

I don't have my Black's handy, but my Barron's law dictionary, 1996, defines `amnesty' as:
"a pardon that is extended to a group of persons and that excuses them for criminal offenses. A grant of amnesty is usually motivated by political reasons and may be limited or conditioned."

It could be more. It could be less. No one knows. No one is accurately counting them. I wonder why.

So you say.

Please point how exactly how Pence's *NEW* law will be addressing *all* of these supposed contradictions. Will they be revoked? Superceded?

I also asked what Pence's *NEW* law will do when these illegals don't go home and, by definition, don't apply for the guest worker program.

And, I asked what will Pence's *NEW* law do when the Executive branch refuses to enforce Pence's *NEW* law as they've done with the existing laws.

"I remember when this first started everyone was yelling that they should 'leave the country and reapply to enter legally.'... now people are complaining because they have the ability to 'reapply to enter legally'..."

The first case applied to use OF EXISTING IMMIGRATION LAW (i.e. go back home, get in line BEHIND those who have NOT entered the US illegally, wait 'til your turn comes up, then come back legally).

The second case applies to s "new/better" process, in which current illegal go home for a day or two, get a new "special" visa, and come right back to their previously-illegal activities.

The second case is simply a wide-open amnesty, despite Pence continuing to say that "it's not an amnesty".

"No one is accurately counting them.I wonder why?"I think the American public would freak out if they were aware of how many are in this country illegally.

BINGO!

Unfortunately, Pence and friends want to push the criminals to the front of the line.

Its already illegal to be illegal.. or to HIRE, rent property to, sell property to or transact business with an illegal..

Why?... because being illegal is against the law...
The only question has become is "illegal" just legal wrangling... and what about other things that are illegal..

The laywers seem to have made a mess.. pity that most politicians are lawyers.. Indeed in this country everyone is equal, but no doubt some are a little more equal than others.. i.e. a license to be illegal..

Answer; Arrest and Sieze the business of anyone knowingly doing business with an illegal insurgent.. That will send shock waves though the culture.. Because the insurgents are not guests of the U.S. they are insurgents.. Did I say insurgent enough?..

Why most of Hollywood (Beverly Hills, Bel Air, etc.) could be `jugged' today:
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode08/usc_sec_08_00001324----000-.html

But the law is "toothless" and our law enforcement congress-critters have been neutered by special interests.

And our pathetic attempts to control our southwest border control are something like attempts to circumvent the 2nd Amendment: "We need . . . more laws!"

pence plan needs killing. the border needs to be sealed and the illegals kicked out. period.

this is not our first chance. this is our last chance. if WE fail this time the internationalist get control of the agenda forever and we get a boot in the face.

Do you ever attack the message or do you always attack the messenger? Wouldn't it be better to argue your point factually rather than lash out and attack those with whom you do not share the same view?

We currently have several million folks that have never broken our laws that are waiting for immigrant visas; these folks should be at the front of the line.

Exactly! My stepdaughter is in the First Family Preference as the adult daughter of a citizen. We applied for her to come in 8/2002, which was 4 years ago. On 8/1 of this year her date to come here was moved back so she has another 5 years and 8 months to go. Total projected time to come here for the daughter of an American citizen is 9 years and 8 months, and in the interim she is not allowed to visit her Mom here, and that due to American law, NOT Russian. When my wife cries at night because she cannot see her daughter and I try to comfort her guess how I feel about W and his support for illegal aliens?

Funny, I remember when this first started everyone was yelling that they should 'leave the country and reapply to enter legally.'... now people are complaining because they have the ability to 'reapply to enter legally'...

Funny, I remember when this first started was yelling that they should 'leave the country Period. And if we need people we can process in new citizens who have never committed any crime including entering illegally
And who are drawn from every country in the world
from Iceland To South Africa, From Norway to South Korea
Every corner of the globe, not giving ANY preference to the few nations to our immediate south.

My Position Has Not Changed.
