I think Rep. Owens claimed 20 or 2 million slaves were thrown overboard. No matter, either claim was thoroughly rebuffed.

His statement about the sharks still out there feeding on slaves was undoubtedly the most inane/dumb thing I've EVER heard from an elected representative...and the competition was fierce in that department.
