In the latest poll on the U.S. Senate race, Republican Katherine Harris remained far behind incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson, indicating that her prospects of beating him are slim.
In only three months, U.S. Senate candidate Katherine Harris has lost almost half of the Republicans who planned to vote for her, according to a new poll that suggests the congresswoman has little chance of unseating Sen. Bill Nelson.
"This candidacy was an uphill battle to begin with. But it can't even climb now. It just loses ground," Brad Coker, director for Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc., said Tuesday.
Were the election held now, Nelson would best Harris 57 percent to 29 percent, according to the poll of 625 registered Florida voters that has an error margin of four percentage points. Only 14 percent were undecided.
Even in the Republican primary, Harris would fare poorly: Coker said a March poll against an expected challenger showed she garnered 72 percent of the GOP vote. But now, against three little-known GOP opponents, she wins only 36 percent of the vote. Forty-three percent of Republican voters are undecided. Candidate Will McBride wins 11 percent, LeRoy Collins Jr. 8 percent and Peter Monroe 2 percent.

A taste of what's going to happen to Republicans, nation wide, who are ardently intent on abandoning true conservatism. Both parties seem to be in a race to see who can destroy themselves first. My guess is that the Republicans will probably win because their base is much more informed and principled.
She has my vote.
Since all politicians are crooked, and once in office, it doesn't really matter which party they are, it's only the amount of time before all your freedoms (and money) are gone, I'll vote for the one with the nice rack. At least when she's speaking, I've got something interesting to look at. She's got my vote too!
A little rude, crude and socially unacceptable and I loved it!! Your right speech night on TV will increase ten fold.
I think it's shameful the way Katherine Harris has been treated by the GOP in Florida, and Jeb Bush has become a Judas to her.
Your logic is flawless. You have correctly expounded upon my thought process in supporting her candidacy.
Therefore Nelson wins another term, good job repubs in florida, what a disgrace. Eat our own and then cry in NOV, smart
Why not. I like your style. Besides this whole corrupt vote process is a joke. Schelping uninformed low IQ idiots to the polls for cigaretts, showing them how to vote for Pat Buchanan instead of the doofus, not counting the military votes because they can't get the ballots out in time --- Yea, this truly is a joke.
Why is Jeb Bush not running for this seat? If the GOP loses it, it is Jeb's fault.
I will not blame anyone but us repubs who dont vote for the candidate that wins the primary.
This is like watching an impending disaster.
I don't live in Florida and therefore cannot vote or support anyone running, but do think it's tacky that Harris got the public diss from Jeb. She should have backed out of the race when her support kept dwindling, but she's been very loyal to the party and deserves more respect, IMO. Let the votes fall where they may.

One year from now, expect Katherine to share the tv screen with Pat Buchanan in bashing the Bush family and the GOP for being dirty RINOs.
Why this woman decided to run for the US Senate is a mystery. She should have remained in the HOR where she might have done some good.
