Yes, I do, but that's not a fair comparison. And it IS an injustice.
Twigs....I have a daughter the same age as Jessica, and when she gets into scrapes, I have to remind myself that those are her life's lessons. And even though they are not what I want her to go thru, sometimes they are necessary for her to have a clearer view of the world. Like your friends son, my daughter is very intelligent, but that has nothing to do with common sense abilities.
What I am trying to tell you, is that that young man will be out before Christmas, and he will remember what he saw there and I suspect that he will appreciate his family more, and be a whole lot wiser.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Three bright college students from privileged backgrounds, charged in a string of rural church arsons that gripped Alabama, may have been fueled by alcohol when they first headed out, authorities said Thursday.
Those young men are not in jail.
