Even though I live in the South, I often type without saying the words out loud, tee hee - or even mouthing them.

But next time I tell off an Ay-rab, I'll know to say "awddt neh" or somesuch guttural Germanic mumbling! When they answer back "get in ma belly!" or "I want my baby back, baby back ..." I will have done my job.

We need to keep using the term War against Islamofascist instead of WOT.
I am so glad Israel hasn't been handcuffed with give piece a chance from our Gov. That would have been Kerry's move day one.

If so, it was a bad misstep. Here he is, with the President of the country who's given so much treasure to and for his country, and he dares to be that tacky. President Bush has been so vocal about our position, that Israel has a right to defend herself .. and Maliki is adamant about defending his country from terrorists .. you'd have thought out of common sense about his struggle and respect for US, he would've cushioned his comments. He wasn't properly advised at all .. and he's sure not showing any instinctive political savvy. Not a good sign at all.

If you really want to tick 'em off, tell them "rooh'intek." Put that cat-hiss sound on the "h".

In my opinion, the Iraq government shouldn't have made any political statements about that conflict at all. They kept silent for several days and they should have maintained that stance.

I was disappointed in Maliki when he came out and said those things last week and moreso when he reiterated them.

Syria Totally Denies Sky News Report

Tuesday, July 25, 2006 - 05:45 PM

DAMASCUS, (SANA) - Syria categorically denied on Tuesday reports saying she owns information about al-Qaeda organization and she is ready to offer them to the US as "baseless", noting "they are but to deform honorable stances of Syria."

The press office of the Ministry of Communication and Technology said in a statement," the news is categorically baseless and these issues have not raised at all during the interview or in any talk of the minister with this news network or any media side."

The office noted that when asking representative of the Sky News network about the subject, he answered in an official statement the "news is baseless and the issue was not part of any statements or debate" adding the network did not put any of these statement on the minister mouth.

" Such lies and deviations enlist in framework of biased bids to deform the Syrian firm and honorable stances," the press office of the ministry said.

Some internet websites published earlier a news item quoted by the French News Agency AFP saying the Sky News attributed to the minister of communication and technology his saying Syria have information about al-Qaeda group and she is ready to extend the data to the United States as well Syria might join as a mediator between the US and Iran.

Good morning, Karl, and thanks for the ping.

' morning all.

It feels like we're about to see a shift in the equation, and not in Israel's favor, at least not in the short run.

Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah: I Told Lebanese Political Leaders We Would Abduct Israeli Soldiers

Video clip

[excerpt]

Interviewer: Did you inform them that you were about to abduct Israeli soldiers?

Hassan Nasrallah: I told them that we must resolve the issue of the prisoners, and that the only way to resolve it is by abducting Israeli soldiers.

Interviewer: Did you say this clearly?

Hassan Nasrallah: Yes, and nobody said to me: "No, you are not allowed to abduct Israeli soldiers." Even if they had told me not to... I'm not defending myself here. I said that we would abduct Israeli soldiers in meetings with some of the main political leaders in the country. I don't want to mention names now, but when the time comes to settle accounts, I will. They asked: "If this happens, will the issue of the prisoners be over and done with?" I said that it was logical that it would. And I'm telling you, our estimation was not mistaken. I'm not exaggerating. Anywhere in the world - show me a country, show me an army, show me a war, in which two soldiers, or even civilian hostages, were abducted, and a war was waged against a country - and all for two soldiers. This has never happened throughout history, and even Israel has never done such a thing. [...]

I don't give a damn what his reasons are. He's supposed to show leadership. This was embarrassing to Bush, humiliating to our soldiers, and infuriating to American citizens. Furthermore, he's a got a mess with Sadr going on, Sadr being cut from the exact same Shiite cloth as the hezzies, yet he speaks out against Israel and for the hezzies.

I am disgusted. I don't think Maliki realize what thin ice that entire country is skating on in connection to the American public.

A few more remarks like that, and even the staunchest American supporters of the Iraq mission such as myself and my husband will begin speaking against the effort. I'd rather bring our people home and leave the Iraqis to their own devices, bad as that would be, than risk the lives of our brave military people for such ingrates. For them to side with terrorists when we're there fighting terrorism for them, and training them to protect themselves, rebuilding their country, etc., is just too much for me.
