Murtha must be protected from the local press. Will use campaign spokesperson to answer Irey's charges. Will also run on past pork.
IMO, he will go campaign for safe seats. The guy will actually think he is doing something. He is too out of it these days to think otherwise.

Yes, the Democrats in general are overly optimistic in regard to the House as a whole. The outbreak of hostilities in the Middle East figures to hurt them and help the GOP
nationally. It already has improved W's personal job rating.
But I just checked out Murtha's election results: in 2002, he crushed his GOP opponent almost 3-1; in 2004, no opposition period. Seems like the district may be so hopelessly Dem that even under these relatively favorable circumstances, it's next to impossible to boot him. Yes or no?
To: justiceseeker93
NO! He has pi$$ed off, and on, a lot of people.
He won in the past as an alleged "hawk" and social conservative. His mask is now off!
More important than his previous races, would be how the President did in his district.
In November 2004, President Bush won in heavily Democratic Cambria County. In Murthas sprawling district, Bush lost by fewer than 8,000 votes. And in 2002, the district also gave Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell only a 5,208-vote margin of victory
Part of Allegheny County -- Bush = 42.1 .. 271,925 vs Kerry = 57.2 .. = 368,912
Part of Armstrong County -- * Bush = 60.9 .. 18,925 vs kerry = 38.7 .. 12,025
Part of Cambria County -- * Bush = 50.8 .. 34,048 vs kerry = 48.7 .. 32,591
Part of Fayette County -- Bush = 45.8 .. 25,045 vs kerry = 53.2 .. 29,120
All of Greene County -- * Bush = 50.0 .. 7,786 vs kerry = 49.3 .. 7,674
Part of Indiana County -- * Bush = 55.9 .. 20,254 vs kerry = 43.7 .. 15,831
Part of Somerset County -- * Bush = 64.7 .. 23,082 vs kerry = 34.9 .. 12,842
Part of Washington County -- Bush = 49.6 .. 47,673 vs kerry = 50.1 .. 48,225
Part of Westmoreland County -- * Bush = 56.0 .. 100,087 vs kerry = 43.5 .. 77,774

Connecticut ping!
Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.), who has suspended his race to become majority leader in the event that the Democrats capture the House, plans to campaign in 41 races around the country where he said party leaders believe he can be helpful.
Murtha said he will shortly visit Connecticut, California, New York and Tennessee.
Please Freepmail me if you want on or off my infrequent Connecticut ping list.

Looks like the NY & Connecticut FReepers could use some Ant-Murtha and Pro-Irey signs for when Cut & Run Murtha appears in your area?

If [the election] was today, wed win 50 seats, he said, adding that Democratic strategists have assessed the field of competitive races in which they think he can help. ROTFLMAO!!! [slapping thigh] 91B, you can add this to your list of absurdities uttered by this nimrod.
