Well, this is just a little editorial from summer to FR, to let you know how the Dem activists are all complaining about: No Free Speech in the Dem Party.
What a shock-er-ooo, eh?
Seems that two pro-Lamont campaigners (both Dem activists) were tossed out for living and breathing near Clinton and Liberman during Clinton's rally for Liberman.
And, the Dem activists are all confused about this -- and, mighty peeved. They say they've got the video on HuffPost HERE. (Actually, I could only get a commercial to come up there.) They've got the Dems underground complaining about it HERE. And, the whole sorry saga is detailed on one of the Dem activist's own blogger sites HERE.
Now, you might not think I have anything to add to this, but I do -- and it concerns the way they are trying to make this seem like "Bush in 2004." But, they're wrong about that, in my experience.
All you had to do to attend to a Bush rally was to go to a GOP local office, show real ID, and ask for a ticket. That's it. You could go in. You didn't even have to be a Republican, depsite the media claims to the contrary.
Yet now, these Dem activists were kept out of a DEM RALLY because they were accused of being known "protesters" -- and were reported to police as being such! (Never mind they are members of the same political party.) Never mind they supported Clinton. Suddenly, they are "protesters" (with tickets) -- and, OUT.
So, here is what I say to those Dems: Welcome to the real world of your party's leadership. Their motto is NO FREE SPEECH. As you found out.
No, I do not agree with everything GW has ever done in office, but, I went to his rally, and I went to Kerry's, too. And, it was the Kerry rank and file who complained to me that Kerry's people kept the protesters MUCH TOO FAR AWAY at that rally.
The protesters were not so far away at a Bush Rally featuring Cheney that I attended in FL. But at the Kerry rally I stumbled upon in PA, the protesters were forced to be WAY OUT OF SIGHT and WAY OFF THE CAMPUS. It was making the Kerry rank and file voters very angry. I respected them for being angry about this.
So, welcome to the world of no free speech, Dem Activists -- uh, I mean "Dem Protesters Who Are In The Same Party But Ejected From Their Own Party's Rally." Access denied. You said it.
Now you know Reason #347 why I left your party and became an independent. Now I don't have to be a Dem and get ejected from Dem rallies like you. Now I can go to both rallies if I want, and just observe who complains more about the lack of free speech.
And, so far, it's Dem rank and file leading the way, all the way... yes, I noticed. Access IS denied -- by Dem Party Leaders. As you now know.
FYI. Maybe you should campaign using the slogan "We're for free speech" -- it's a new idea for some people.
Good post; thanks.
Thanks, Rocko! :)
They shouldn't be surprised. Bill Clinton is the father of the no protest zone.
And Mrs. C is the mother.
But -- they are always surprised. And, frankly, they should not be surprised any more. They should just start their own party, IMO. (Can't they take a hint?)
She once offered to post on her web site in response to questions - - IF you first donated X amount of bucks. When I wrote a thread about it and posted it on FR, they changed the procedure immediately. They only speak for dollars-- unless someone else points that out. As I did. I said if Jeb Bush ever charged a fee for every time he wrote someone an email response, that guy would be a billionaire many times over right now.
She is a "Mother' allright.
What a show these liberals are putting on. "Freedom" seems to have no welcoming sign.
Maybe just maybe the grand master of triangulation the first senator that is the defender of the party will swoon in and have a rally with the other candidate.
Bush is such a Nazi. /sarc
Bwahahaha... I thought it... and then read it.
Didn't you ever learn that you're not supposed to use half-words? :=)
I can tell you there were ZERO Kerryites complaining about how far away I was corraled when I silently protested him at a PA campaign stop. In retrospect, I was safer that way.
Here's the thing--the two kooks who were not allowed into the Joe Lieberman/Bill Clinton rally are two CT bloggres who are actively supporting Ned Lamont and practically stalking Lieberman. The bloggers/left wing/ nut roots have gone bonkers up here in CT over defeating Joe in the primary--it's insane!!!
Checkout Connecticutlocalpolitics.blogspot.com for decent commentary on the race--try Myleftnutmeg for the nutroots.
Alot of sound and fury up here, Lamont is bashing Lieberman constantly, and if Lamont wins, this will will be a model for other activist left wing nuts across the nation.
You may not have heard those Kerry rank and file voters complain. But they did complain. They thought it was terrible. And, maybe not all of them complained. However, the ones next to me did. They were shocked.
Scratch a liberal and you get a fascist, and a hypocritical fascist at that.
BUT, having said that, in this day and age, when a candidate is holding one of his own rallies, it just seems prudent to limit who attends. It is just so easy for a few jackasses to turn anyone's rally into an advertisement for the jackass pov.
The Adolescent Sociopath, on the other hand, used government muscle to limit the free speech of American citizens. He liked to intimidate people who just happened to be in a public place near him.
