Washington, DC | July 24, 2006 | Today, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) filed a federal lawsuit claiming that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld failed to fulfill their constitutional and professional obligations and protect US citizens in a crisis or time of war.

Peace and Freedom Response:
I really almost cannot believe this. The United States government went above and beyond the call of duty to rescue people from a war zone . All of the people had been warned of the danger by the U.S. Embassy and all we asked to register, in advance, to allow for a planned evacuation if needed. Almost everyone ignored the Embassy and few registered.
Thatnotwithstanding: everyone who wanted to leave got a fee ride out in comfort (its the American way).
I recorded the events this way on my web site several days ago:
"Unable to effectively manage and organize the evacuation of innocent civilians from Lebanon, the U.N. is enviously eying USS Nashville, USS Trenton, USS Whidbey Island, USS Iwo Jima, USS Gonzalez, a bunch of CH-53 Super Stallion helicopters, the commercial liner " Orient Queen," [leased by the U.S. to evacuate U.S. citizens and their families] the U.S. Marines, and a protective cover including U.S. Navy destroyers.
Americans are leaving Beirut under a security umbrella of protected comfort and moving toward home in a fairly rapid manner. Non-Americans are mostly leaving by cargo ship to make the five hour U.S. vacationer's cruise ship journey in the hold of a hot cargo vessel in a 16 hour manner without toilets.
Today, July 21, the motor ferry Rahmah, with a capacity of 1,400 passengers, arrived in Lebananon and the high-speed ferry Victoria M, with a capacity of 330, also started taking Americans out.
"It feels wonderful to be back in the States. We just want to thank so much the State Department and the people that helped the government, the Marines, to help get us out," said one arrival at BWI. But Americans who left Lebanon with European evacuees on non-U.S. vessels said they encountered a far rougher journey.
"We went on a cargo ship from the port of Lebanon. ... It was horrible. There were no facilities on the ship, just get out alive, that was it. We were on the ship for about 16 hours. It's a trip that takes about 4 or 5 hours," said Tom Charara from Long Beach, Calif.
The cruise ships the U.S. chartered to bring out U.S. citizens equipped with a duty-free shops, gourmet restaurants and beauty salons normally carry up to 800 vacationers each on Mediterranean cruises. The U.S. Marine Brigadier General on the scene managing the civilian evacuation said he would wrap up the operation soon; and the Americans may have room for some of the allied civilians.
"That would be my suspicion," said Marine Brig. Gen. Carl B. Jensen, who was leading the operation. "It wouldn't surprise me at all if we had some excess capacity," Jensen said. "We will of course make that available to other nations to assist in their orderly departure," he added.
So I ask: WHERE's THE BEEF?" Having served more than 20 years in the U.S. Navy and rescued Americans in tough spots myself, I am appauled at the ingratitude and spoiled conduct of a good portion of people, sometimes."
EGAD!

Curious can we sue these idiots for filing a junk lawsuit? What an utterly stupid waste of the Court systems time.
Sleeper cells?
Sorry, couldn't keep that up without laughing.
I'm surprised the ACLU didn't do it first.
Yep the FOXNews Channel's Leprechaun had the spokes lady on. Mrs SR said the ding-a-ling looked and sound like Helen Thomas' younger Sister
I'd swear and use the Lord's name in vain, but I'll restrain myself to pointing out the fact that this entire Administration is every American Arab's best friend. If it weren't for the cool heads in the White House, we'd probably have responded to 9/11 with a lot more domestic violence.
GWB and his people have been careful to promote the idea of "us" against "them", narrowly defining "them" as being just the terrorists. The narrow definition of who are our enemies are is a dangerously thin line, and one which we have walked from the first day with increasing risk that our tolerance will result in more deaths.
If Arab Americans and Muslims know what is best for them, they'll join behind us 100% and root out the dissidents in our/their midst, instead of protecting them and blaming us..
1980 : (FORMER DEMOCRAT SENATOR FROM S DAKOTA JAMES ABOUREZK FOUNDS THE AMERICAN ARAB ANTI-DISCRIMINATION COMMITTEE aka ADC aka AAADC) Abourezk left the Senate and later founded the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. He recently called on Arabs to "intensify their move to explain their points of view to the American public which is dominated by the Israeli media machine." ---- "20-Year-Old Republican Website Owner Sued by Former Democrat Senator, " By Jeff Gannon, Talon News, July 31, 2003
I believe it was the leader of this group, a Ms. Oakar, that was on O'Reilly's show tonight and wouldn't answer Bill as to whether Hezbollah is a terrorist organization, he asked her about 6 times.
Certainly colors the "ugly American" image, doesn't it?
What a jerk. He should kiss the captain of that cargo ship on his feet, for getting his sorry carcass out of harms way.
He couldn't answer that because one of his group's Michigan chapters has cozy little ties to Hezbollah.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one that thought she looked like Helen Thomas' younger sister. I cannot believe that she wanted our military to go through the countryside of Lebanon looking for Americans that might be sick or wounded. I'm sure our military's presence would be thought of kindly by Muslims in Arab Land. I just cannot stand the constant whining. What do these people want? Don't they need to act responsibly.
Abourezk maintains a friendly relationship with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, whom he describes as "a very smart, charming guy." He also represented Ayatollah Khomeni's Islamic Republic of Iran in a $56 billion lawsuit against the deposed Shah.
Abourezk sued National Geographic magazine claiming they improperly acquired his original photographs.
He also filed a suit against the Reagan administration to allow the Sandanista Interior Minister into the United States.
Abourezk took New York Air to court for false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress for not letting him off a plane that was delayed three hours on the tarmac.

Also, anybody who is dissatisfied with how they were evacuated out of a war zone is being ridiculously childish. They should be happy that we care enough to consent to the use of our military and public resources to effect mass evacuations out of a region which has had State Department warnings pinned to it for decades.
Like a thirsty kid complaining that the "water" isn't a Coca-Cola.
...Born in a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, [Imad] Hamad was a suspected member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), the Communist faction of Palestinian terrorism responsible for countless homicide bombings and the October 2001 assassination of Israeli Tourism Minister Rehavam Zeevi.
The INS was so opposed to Hamads presence in the United States that it fought to deport him for over two decades.
But, under political pressure from Michigan politicians, like Senator Carl Levin and Rep. David Bonior, the immigration judge chose to disregard classified evidence, and he is now a U.S. citizen. (Hamads lawyer, Noel Saleh, proudly proclaimed that heSalehfinancially supported Hezbollah.)
Since then, as Midwest Regional Director of the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), Hamad has been busy promoting the terrorist causedoing interviews throughout the Detroit media supporting Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic hate.------- Debbie Schlussel
Just damn.
What is good for the infidel, is good for the muslim. ;)
It is disgraceful for elected officials to support people like this, I can't understand how they keep being reelected.
